The Mysterious Benedict Society serie

Well hullo! here is another good FICTION serie :

The Mysterious Benedict Society book# 1:
Young readers who have worked their way through Lemony Snicket may well find their next obsession in The Mysterious Benedict Society, a dandy YA debut by novelist Trenton Lee Stewart. This engaging tale has all the elements tweens find intriguing: gifted kids, a dangerous mission, and a secret society where nothing is as it seems. Stewart throws plenty of challenges -- physical, mental, and moral -- in the path of his young protagonists, and readers will have fun solving the riddles and unraveling the clues in this smart, unconventional mystery. Complex, unpredictable, and deeply respectful of children's innate intelligence, The Mysterious Benedict Society is highly recommended for thoughtful preteens. P.S. We loved it, too!

I LOVED the way it all started. One of the most awesome things are the missions they have tu endure and of course one of their test was being in the house that is a sort of a puzzle. The challenges and the characters are freaking awesome. Every kid is different and unique in their own way. This four children (Reynie, Kate, Sticky, and Constance )consist of the reader( Sticky), who has the amazing ability to memorize things( this guy is awesome... he's a freaking genious!); the engineer(Kate) ( is a girl!), who has the amazing ability to create anything to solve the task at hand from materials she carries with her; the baby(Constance) ( she's so cute! and later on you will know her age ._.), whose chief attribute is to be unpredictable and not listen to the rules much less follow them and makes poems; and the puzzle solver( Reynie), who looks at everything as a riddle needing a solution.
COME TO THE BENEDICT SOCIETY TO SAVE THE WORLD! they have to infiltrate the nefarious Learning Institute for the Very Enlightened - a psuedo-school run by the evil Mr. Curtain. It's up to these four disimilar and intrepid kids to save the world and of course they are completely up to the task. ._.
The Mysterious Benedict Society (Mysterious Benedict Society, #1)

The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey book #2:

The fabulous foursome readers embraced as The Mysterious Benedict Society is back with a new mission, significantly closer to home. After reuniting for a celebratory scavenger hunt, Reynie, Kate, Sticky, and Constance are forced to go on an unexpected search--a search to find Mr. Benedict. It seems that while he was preparing the kids' adventure, he stepped right into a trap orchestrated by his evil twin Mr. Curtain.
With only one week to find a captured Mr. Benedict, the gifted foursome faces their greatest challenge of all--a challenge that will reinforce the reasons they were brought together in the first place and will require them to fight for the very namesake that united them.

The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey (Mysterious Benedict Society, #2)

The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner's Dilemma book #3

The last book in the series the Mysterious Benedict Society’s in filled with character development. In the pervious volume, three of the four characters find out their family yet Constance remains family-less. Her adoption papers are lost and her existence is shrouded in mystery. Her gifts are elaborated in this book. She can not only read people’s mind but also change them by imposing her thoughts on them. Mr. Curtain had invented an instrument called the Whisperer’. This instrument was capable of easing one’s memory. Allowing the ‘instrument’s controller’ to have access to your most private thoughts!. AND thanks to out little cute Constance WE WON! ;D
The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner's Dilemma (Audio CD)

I totally LOVE the covers. The have a lot of details so one of the things I do is watch the book for a while and see all the details that are secrets unfolding while you read ;D
4/5 ( yes four... I have to admit sometimes is slow...)

The Spook's Apprentice serie!/ The Last Apprentice

The Last Apprentice by Joseph Delaney!

Two days ago I finished reading the last book ( for now! ) in The Last Apprentice serie. I love every bookn this author writes. 5/5 all of them, is a most read!

Here are the books with the goodread excerpt and sometimes mine too!, picture and some comments of mine.

Book #1:  The Last Apprentice: Revenge of the Witch

Young Tom, the seventh son of a seventh son, starts work as an apprentice for the village spook; as there isn't another job for him; whose job is to protect ordinary folk from "ghouls, boggarts, and all manner of wicked beasties.... and fight with deadly witches! will he survive?

* I just love the concept of a seventh son of a seventh son. I liked the Spook as soon as I read him for the first time( name: John). He is such an old cranky man!. Anyway the first thing he had to do was pass sort of a test and is staying in a old creepy house ....the thing is here is the start of an adventure as he too meets a girl.... with pointy shoes! when you read the serie you will know why is bad a girl with pointy shoes.

Revenge of the Witch (The Last Apprentice / Wardstone Chronicles, #1)

Book #2: Curse of the Bane

The Spook and his apprentice, Thomas Ward, rid the county of witches, ghosts, boggarts, and other creatures of the dark. And there's some unfinished business to attend to in Priestown. Deep in the catacombs lurks a creature the Spook has never been able to defeat; a force so evil that the whole county is in danger. The Bane!
But the Bane is not their only enemy. The Quisitor arrives, intent on hunting down anyone who meddles with the dark. Thomas Ward and the Spook must prepare for the battle of their lives.

Just wow! this book had me in such a way!!!! I was like oh no he's gonna get killed. But it was a really good book, better than the first. I liked how he created Priestown ( I also like the name), I think here is where we meet one of John Gregory's brother; and well the Quisitor is such an ass. Really...

Curse of the Bane (The Last Apprentice / Wardstone Chronicles, #2)

Book #3: Night of the Soul Stealer
As the weather grows colder and the nights draw in, the Spook and his apprentice Tom Ward must be even more vigilant in their battles against the boggarts, witches, and ghosts roaming the county. When they receive an unexpected visitor, the Spook decides it is time to move to his winter house in Anglezarke. It is a bleak, forbidding place, full of witches and secrets. Tom hears rumors of menacing creatures stirring on the moors nearby, including the evil beast called Golgoth. Who was the mysterious visitor? And is Tom prepared for what he will find in Anglezarke?

* Another really good story and another good fights this two with Alice and verything. In Anglezarke some secrets from the spook will be out and a new fight and new enemies come.

Night of the Soul Stealer (The Last Apprentice / Wardstone Chronicles, #3)

Book #4:  Attack of the Fiend!

"I see your future clearly. Your master will be dead, and you will be alone. It would be better if you had never been born."

Thomas Ward is the apprentice for the local Spook, who banishes boggarts and drives away ghosts. But now a new danger is threatening Tom's world. The witches are rising and the three most powerful clans are uniting in order to conjure an unimaginable evil.

Tom and the Spook set out to stop the witches before they unleash the demon. But when Tom finds himself on his own, he wonders if he has the courage and cunning to defeat the most powerful enemy he has ever encountered.

Attack of the Fiend (The Last Apprentice / Wardstone Chronicles, #4)

Book 5: Wrath of the Bloodeye

As the weather grows colder and the nights draw in, the Spook and his apprentice Tom Ward must be even more vigilant in their battles against the boggarts, witches, and ghosts roaming the county. When they receive an unexpected visitor, the Spook decides it is time to move to his winter house in Anglezarke. It is a bleak, forbidding place, full of witches and secrets. Tom hears rumors of menacing creatures stirring on the moors nearby, including the evil beast called Golgoth. Who was the mysterious visitor? And is Tom prepared for what he will find in Anglezarke

Also in here he meets another wonderful character which is Bill Arkwright whom is another spook. In order to complete what Tom is learning he has to go and be the apprentice for a while to another spook!! besides Bill being all big, all muscle and a drunker he has to learn to swim, and fight a new type of witches. Bill is not like Gregory, when he kills a witch he gives the heart of the witch to his beautiful beast Tooth and Claw which I love them and they eat it! and then he chops off the head!. I am very sad to say that Bill died and Tooth too, being Claw pregnant. I cried. Well the good thing is they won agains the witch they were fighting.

Wrath of the Bloodeye (The Last Apprentice / Wardstone Chronicles, Book 5)

Book # 6: Clash of the Demons
     War looms on the horizon
As the Spook's apprentice, Tom Ward must protect the County from the creatures of the dark. But now his mother has returned from her homeland to seek his help. A dangerous ancient witch, Ordeen, is about to rise, bringing with her suffering and devastation. Tom's mother has mustered a powerful army—including Tom's friend Alice and the assassin Grimalkin—to confront Ordeen. If Tom joins them, the Spook will abandon Tom as his apprentice. What sacrifices will be made in the battle against the dark?

From all the books this one is one of the best. Mam.. mam is the mother of the Lamias!!!!!!!!! in  here we are going to learn about her, which she is another of the characters that I like. This fight wih the Ordeen and niads and everything that is lurking in here is fantastic and terrifying at the same time... and when Tom did a pact with the Fiend I SCREAMED!

Clash of the Demons (Last Apprentice Series #6)

Book #7: Rise of the Huntress

Things can never be the same again.
The Spook and his apprentice, Thomas Ward, have returned to the county after a long journey and a hard battle. But their troubles are far from over. Their home has been over-run by enemy soldiers. The Spook's house is in ruins, the boggart protecting it has fled, and the malicious witches imprisoned in the gardens have escaped.
Tom, Alice, and the Spook must flee, too, across the ocean to the island of Mona. And it's on Mona that this small band fighting against the dark will face an old enemy grown terrifyingly powerful. Will they be able to vanquish an evil that crawls beneath the ground itself? At what cost?
Will Tom and the Spook ever be able to return home?

I cried when I read that the house was in ruins. That the cute fluffy boggar cat had fled... Poor John Gregory! and Bony Lizzie has escaped her bonds!! terrible! and worst of all she is not the aunt of Alice... IS HER MOTHER! and she's the Fiend daughter!!!!!!!!!!!! freaking omg.
Anyway in here we can sort of a story about a fight with Bony Lizzie and the spook, Tom and Alice.

Rise of the Huntress (The Last Apprentice / Wardstone Chronicles, #7)

Book #8: Rage of the Fallen

A dangerous few months lie ahead—ones which some of us will be hard-pressed to survive.

Thomas Ward has served as the Spook's apprentice for three years. He has battled boggarts, witches, demons, and even the devil himself. Tom has enemies: The Fiend stalks him, waiting for a moment of weakness. The terrifying Morrigan, goddess of witches, warned him never to step foot on her homeland, Ireland.
But now war has consumed their own country, and Tom, his friend Alice, and the Spook must flee to Ireland. The dark rages strongly there. No one can be trusted. Can Tom defeat the creatures that hunt him most fiercely?

I loved the sword he is given! I am happy that Grimalkin is once again in here and that she's alive... and that they have bound the Fiend for a little while!!. But when the Fiend took Alice now she has come back thanks to Pan but like a mean Alice... perhaps the story will not end that happy if Alice starts being like she did... He escaped the Morrigan yay! and well go to read the story and STOP THE TIME ;))))

Rage of the Fallen (The Last Apprentice / Wardstone Chronicles, #8)

I am Grimalkin, and I have already chosen those I will kill ..."

Grimalkin has made it her lifetime ambition to destroy the Fiend, avenging the brutal murder of her son. Having grudgingly joined forces with the Spook and his apprentice, Tom, and assisted them in the binding of the Fiend, she is now on the run. And her mission is deadly. She has to help them bind the Fiend's spirit for ever no matter who - or what - comes after it... This latest chilling instalment in the "Wardstone Chronicles" follows Grimalkin, the terrifying witch assassin, feared wherever she is known.

R.L.'s books are read all over the world. So far, he has sold over 350 million books, making him one of the best-selling children's authors in history.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1943. His mother, Anne Stine, was a homemaker and his father, Lewis Stine, was a shipping clerk. He has a younger brother and sister-- Bill and Pam. No one in his family ever called him R.L. Everyone calls him Bob.

When Bob was nine, he found an old typewriter up in the attic. That discovery changed his life. He carried it down to his room and started typing stories and little joke books.
His mother begged him to go outside and play. But Bob always said it was too boring outside. He stayed in his room typing away-- and he has been writing ever since.
In school, Bob was not a great student. He got mostly B's, but he never studied very hard.
He spent most of his time writing stories and joke magazines. He was terrible in math, and he hated gym class. The only sport he was ever good at was ping pong!
After graduating from Ohio State University in 1965, Bob headed to New York City to become a writer. He wrote dozens of joke books and humor books for kids. And he created Bananas, a zany humor magazine which he did for ten years. In those days, he wrote under the name Jovial Bob Stine.

He married Jane Waldhorn in 1969. Jane became an editor and writer, and they worked together on several children's books. Later, Jane and her partner formed their own publishing company, Parachute Press, and helped create all of R.L.'s most popular book series.

Dreamhouse Kings Book#1: House of dark shadows

Dreamhouse Kings book #1: HOUSE OF DARK SHADOWS
By: Robert Liparulo

When the Kings move from L.A. to a secluded small town, fifteen-year-old Xander is beyond disappointed. He and his friends loved to create amateur films . . . but the tiny town of Pinedale is the last place a movie buff and future filmmaker wants to land.

But he, David, and Toria are captivated by the many rooms in the old Victorian fixer-upper they moved into--as well as the heavy woods surrounding the house.

They soon discover there's something odd about the house. Sounds come from the wrong directions. Prints of giant, bare feet appear in the dust. And when David tries to hide in the linen closet, he winds up in locker 119 at his new school.

Then the really weird stuff kicks in: they find a hidden hallway with portals leading off to far-off places--in long-ago times. Xander is starting to wonder if this kind of travel is a teen's dream come true . . . or his worst nightmare.

My review: ( SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

It all starts with them in a car saying how uncomfortable they are waiting to get to the new place they were heading. I didn't liked the bear that Toria had; it was so psycho that girl with the bear but in the end ( of this bok) it kind of help having the bear around, since it recorded something the man that took their mother said. At first I didn't knew what the first pages of the book (when it was 30-thirty years ago) ment, but at the end I knew and it's just sad. I also thought it was going to be a scary story, but it turns out it's about portals and rooms with portals and that is cool... not scary but cool. When they find for first time one of the portals and they are like in 5 seconds in their school, I was like WHOA when/how/ WHAT? and well that was just pretty darn weird. Anyway this book made me sad when their father told them he was the kid of seven years old trying to the same they were doing: save their mom... so I think this new adventure is about looking for their mom and if they can their grandmother too, whom I think that big stupid man, that is like damn immortal xD, took too. I'm looking forward to know MORE! And well the adventures were kind of cool, besides being scary and OH I liked that their parents gave them posters related to their name ;) and lol David's one was naked hahaha.

The Kiesha'ra serie (shapeshifters)

by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes.

Well I have read the first four books before today but I said I had to finish this serie and I did. I'm happy and sad because this is just a great serie as is another one she wrote too. But anyway here are the great books:

1: Hawksong

Danica Shardae is an avian shapeshifter, and the golden hawk's form in which she takes to the sky is as natural to her as the human one that graces her on land. The only thing more familiar to her is war: It has raged between her people and the serpiente for so long, no one can remember how the fighting began. As heir to the avian throne, she'll do anything in her power to stop this war - even accept Zane Cobriana, the terrifying leader of her kind's greatest enemy, as her pair bond and make the two royal families one.
Trust. It is all Zane asks of Danica - and all they ask of their people - but it may be more than she can give. (Goodreads)

In a land that has been at so long ( the different types of snakes and avians) where no one remembers the reason for fighting, this two shapeshifters, that rules each of their kindoms agree to marry in hope to end the war, bring peace and combine the people of their kindom in one place...

Well this is the first book, where we meet Danica Shardae that is a an avian shapeshifter and her form is a hawk decides to be the pair of our hot Zane Cobriana, the Diente of his world. I really liked hoe he acted and how the serpientes acted with each other. In the avian kindom it was nice and perhaps more thrilling when you get to know your pair but it was too much formality so it was kind of funny when the avain Danica had to start touching her pair to appear as if they were together.... this is the start of the dream.

Very cute hahaha me smiling while reading this serie.

2: Snakecharm:

Zane Cobriana, cobra shapeshifter, thanks the gods every day for Danica, his hawk pair bond, and the peace their union has brought to the avian and serpiente. Soon, Danica will have a child to carry on their royal line. But what should be a happy time is riddled with doubt.
Syfka, an ancient falcon, has arrived from Ahnmik claiming that one of her people is hidden in their midst. The falcons are more powerful than the avians and serpiente combined, and Syfka shows nothing but contempt for Zane and Danica's alliance. To Zane's horror, his own people seem just as appalled as Syfka is by the thought of a mixed-blood child becoming heir to the throne.
Is Syfka's lost falcon just a ruse to stir up controversy among them? The truth lies somewhere in their tangled pasts and the search will redefine Zane and Danica's fragile future. (Goodreads)

The peace finally came true and Danica is PREGNANT!!!! <3 but now between this happiness arrives Syfka an acient falcon who claims that one of her people is hidding in their place. The one that was hiding was Andreiros( real name Sebastian) which in this story you will get to know the real enemies ... the falcons! so this is just a start when the falcons start to appear in this serie.

3: Falcondance:

Nicias has never felt completely at home among the avians and serpiente in Wyvern’s Court, despite his loyalty to Oliza Shardae Cobriana, the heir to both thrones. He is a falcon, the son of two exiles from Anhmik–and images of this distant island have always haunted his dreams. But when Nicias’s visions become more like reality, his parents have no choice but to send him back to the homeland–and a royal falcon–they’ve tried their best to forget.
If Araceli won’t bind Nicias’s newfound magic, it could destroy him. In a place where everyone is a pawn, only one other woman has the potential to save Nicias. But she holds the keys to a dangerous power struggle that will force Nicias to choose between his duty–and his destiny. (Goodreads)

In here is were appears Nicias! I totally love him. Anyway he is nineteen years old and he is the son of two exile falcons parents that wanted to keep him in there but they couldn't because the magic inside him for being a falcon is finally coming out and he has to go to where he belongs... Just WOW! This place is really beautiful and is just peaceful and well in here Araceli one of the most important falcons decides to try and get his grandson, Nicias to be her heir. In this adventure he meets Hai which I totally like and he saves her from Ecl ....

5/5!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the cover too!

4: Wolfcry
Oliza Shardae Cobriana is heir to Wyvern's Court, home of the avians and serpiente, whose war with each other ended just before Oliza was born. But hatred is slow to die, and not everyone likes the expressive way in which Urban, a serpiente dancer, is courting Oliza--especially not Marus, her reserved avian suitor. And when Urban is found beaten in avian land, Oliza is filled with despair. How can she be expected to lead a unified society if her people still cannot live peacefully together?
Before Oliza can try to mend the rift in Wyvern's Court, she is kidnapped by mercenaries, who take her deep into wolves' territory. As Wyvern princess, all Oliza has ever wanted is to see a future where she can find love and take a mate without inciting another war. The time is now. She owes it to her people--and to herself.

SUPER SPOILERSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oliza the heir for the two thrones of our beloved Wyvern's Court must choose a mate very, very soon. As the story goes a lot of men's are fighting to get her and I really thought Nicias was going to end up with her... but nah he's a falcon and he didn't love her as a mate but the thing is..... as the story goes she is being followed because some people wants her dead and she ends up being helped by a wolf that is her FUTURE LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. I know. Is a girl. A wolf. But they are happy. And I knew it before the author actually said it as she dance to the wolf ( Betia is the name of the wolf who helped her and her love :)) so yeah. And she decides to give the throne to the next heirs.

5: Wyvernhail

Hai has always been an outsider. With a falcon mother and a deceased cobra father, she is considered a mongrel by most, an ally by some, and a friend by few. Hai's broken falcon wings are a painful reminder of the life she once led on the island of Ahnmik. And here in Wyvern's Court, the avian and serpiente royal family keep their distance, refusing to acknowledge her cobra bloodline. They know that Hai's magic is so volatile, she can barely control it, and images of the past and future threaten to overwhelm her.
When Hai's cousin, Oliza Shardae Cobriana, abdicates the throne of Wyvern's Court, Hai has visions only of destruction: the serpiente king Salem, dying in her arms; the dutiful guard, Nicias, unable to save a generation of children; and Wyvern's Court engulfed in flames.
Now Hai will do anything to protect her new home - even if it means betraying the very people who need her most

What I thougt:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO is the end! I'm very sad and happy because I wanted to know too what happened in the end! well in here is kind of the story of Hai. I totally love her and I'm very happy she was the one to save Wyvern's Court and a lot of lifes. She starts seeing this vision where is this little deadly girl which could be the future kid of Oliza .... OR HERS! just read this awesome book. And really you will love it. It was my favorite. Hai was jut the most brave and powerful of all them. Thanks to this author for giving me the chance to know this story

10/10 ;D

Fablehaven book #1

By: Brandon Mull

Review by goodreads:

For centuries mystical creatures of all description were gathered into a hidden refuge called Fablehaven to prevent their extinction. The sanctuary survives today as one of the last strongholds of true magic. Enchanting? Absolutely. Exciting? You bet. Safe? Well, actually, quite the opposite.

Kendra and her brother, Seth, have no idea that their grandfather is the current caretaker of Fablehaven. Inside the gated woods, ancient laws keep relative order among greedy trolls, mischievous satyrs, plotting witches, spiteful imps, and jealous fairies. However, when the rules get broken -- Seth is a bit too curious and reckless for his own good -- powerful forces of evil are unleashed, and Kendra and her brother face the greatest challenge of their lives. To save their family, Fablehaven, and perhaps even the world, Kendra and Seth must find the courage to do what they fear most.

My review!!

I really thought it was going to be kind of a boring book because it did start with a slow start and I was like when will they ever going to get there. The thing is since the moment the kids where in their grandfather house I liked it! I mean come on! is a very big house for kids where you can do whatever you can- WAIT! there is this place called Fablehaven where there are trolls, satyrs, witches, fairies... not the cute one but the "mean" ones too!.

To see the fairies you have to drink a special milk and there is this mirror where the fairies love to see themselves in it. One of parts I liked was when the grandfather told Kendra to look where the keys he gave her can open stuff like a doll house and such and she finds a diary where it says something.... BUT YOU HAVE TO READ THE BOOK muahahaha.

And their grandmother was the chicken! at least they saved her... anyway it is an awesome fantasy book so you should read this start of an adventure where seen witches and big bad troll is something kind of common. Good read <3!

Tales from the Odyssey by Mary Pope Osborne

Mary Pope Osborne; who is an author for kids books; writes the Tales from the Odyssey series based on Homer’s The Odyssey. The Odyssey is an epic sea adventure poem. Odysseus is a conquering hero of the Trojan War. It was his idea to build the Trojan horse. Now the Trojan War is finished. The tired Odysseus wants to return home. Unfortunately, he angers Poseidon, a Greek god by fooling one of this creatures, the Cyclops and while he was going away, as the Cyclops couldn't see because of the injury well Odysseus decided to yell something at him and said his name! and the new adventure begins thanks of a cursed made by Cyclops and Poseidon.

I love myths. I really enjoyed this serie and I wanted to know more! to read more... I wanted to know what happened with Penelope and his son and how was the battle with only Odysseus and his son with a ton of mens fighting over Penelope. I have to say that one of the greek goddesses I didn't liked was Athena but how well she was and good and all that in this series I really like her now... Not only because she helped Odysseus ( I think she had some sort of a crush on him) but becasue I could FINALLY see the wisdom she had.  A MOST READ! And hahaha when the princess saw him naked lol.

Here are the books.

Why Odysseus?! Why didn't just go away without saying something?!

Really liked this. Sad but atleast he got to talk to a lot of people he missed and didn't knew they were dead nor the reason of it.

I think this is the most horrible one. I mean I thought he was going to die because that beast killed very randomly and... o_o just read it. But hey it was a good read with a lot of action.

Here is the naked part hehehe well they describe him very beautiful... anyway here is another one of my favorite as his son meets Athena! and is looking for his dad....

5) here is the last book! I'm really glad I found this serie but HEY I wanted to know what happened with Penelope and when Odysseus fought with his son!
